4 STEPS TO YOUR CONQUEST

By 24th January 2020 Uncategorised

What do you need to conquer right now? I have four simple steps based on the story of Joshua when he was in Jericho that will help you get the victory in your life.

1. FACE THE FACTS (WITHOUT FEAR)

God told Joshua to conquer the most intimidating city in the promised land. At the start of Joshua 6:1, scripture clearly says, “Now Jericho was securely shut up…” God got Joshua to face the facts without fear. Don’t be afraid of the battles you need to win or the giants you need to kill. God’s got this!

2. PAINT A PICTURE

Next God said to Joshua, “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king & the mighty men of valor.” (Josh 6:2) The Lord told His son to visualize the victory before he even went out to fight. Picture your promise coming to pass right now.  It will fuel your faith.

When God promised to give Abraham the land that Joshua was now taking, the Lord said, “Lift your eyes now & look… for all the land which you see I give to you.” (Gen 13:14-15). What we can see by faith, we will see come to pass.

3. PERSEVERE

The Lord then instructed the people to march around the walls of Jericho, for six days in a row. Imagine how they must have felt.  Things were not changing in the natural. The walls weren’t crumbling, the ground wasn’t moving. However, they had to keep persevering and doing what God had told them to do.

Time is a test that we all have to pass. What do I mean? We need to believe for breakthrough today, but stay strong in faith even if it seems slow in coming to pass. Abraham waited 25 years for his miracle baby. Joseph endured 13 years as a slave and a prisoner before being suddenly promoted to prime minister. Persevere while you wait.

4. THE FINAL PUSH

After six days of perseverance, God told the people to double up their efforts. On the seventh day, they had to march round the city seven times. Marathon runners have to hold a pace for most of the run, but then when the end is nearing, they find the strength to sprint across the finish line.

I encourage you to stir yourself up concerning the promises of God over your life. If you know breakthrough is near, don’t allow discouragement to settle. Instead, rise up and press harder in prayer and faith knowing that He who has promised is faithful.

Joshua 6:5 tells us how the story would end: “It shall come to pass, when… all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat.” When we keep on pushing and pressing, we will see our promises come to pass.

RECHARGE YOUR HEART

Faith is of the heart. Very often, the things that are holding back our faith are the issues of our hearts. As you press into God’s best, ask God to do a heart check while you read My Whole Heart (available on Amazon).  And come along to one of our events near you.
