DO YOU FEEL FAVORED?

By 3rd November 2019 November 8th, 2019 Uncategorised

A couple of weeks ago, my husband mentioned the importance of us having faith in the favor of God. As he said those words, the Holy Spirit opened my eyes. I realised that I believed that my friend and my husband both had more favor with God than I did.

I was startled. Why would I believe that God would favor them more than me? The Lord took me on a journey that transformed my prayer life. I hope this will help you as much as it helped me. I will start by making some statements about the favor of God.

1. FAVOR IS EASY – There are times when we need to wage war for the promises of God to manifest and we often need to take authority over the enemy. It can be a battle. However, sometimes all we need is some favor.

2. FAVOR IS A PROMISE – Every Christian is entitled to the favor of God. Psalm 5:12 says, “… with favor You will surround him as with a shield.” God promises us His favor which also gives us favor with people.

3. YOU CAN GROW IN FAVOR – the Bible says that Jesus increased in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). When He was on earth, He was fully man. His life is our example in everything so we too can grow in favor.

One of the biggest barriers to many people believing that they have favor with God is the storms of life. Well think about it, do you feel favored in the midst of trials & tribulations?

The problem is that difficulty is part of life (see Job 5:7) so we can end up doubting the favor of God. Even the disciples thought Jesus didn’t care because they went through a frightening storm (See Mark 4:37-38).

HOW DID HE DO THAT?

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Faith has always been the way that we obtain God’s promises. So how was it that Joseph went through terrible trials and yet still had faith for the favor of the Lord?

Joseph was betrayed and sold like a lump of meat to foreigners. He was falsely accused of rape & thrown into prison. But through it all, he had faith for favor. As a result, he was given privileges & he was promoted. That’s what favor does.

GOD IS LIKE MY DAD

We know that Joseph was lavishly loved by his dad. He was favored by his father. A vital role of earthly fathers is to demonstrate the nature of our Heavenly Father. Joseph knew that he could count on the favor of God because he knew he could count on the favor of his dad.

If you have not been lavishly loved by your dad, it will be vital that you allow the Lord to heal every hurt in your heart so that you can begin to believe in God’s love for you. Healing is a journey so don’t stop until you are truly secure and at perfect peace inside.

IT’S ALL ABOUT RELATIONSHIP

If one of our church members wanted time with my husband, they might email or call our office. If my son wanted time with my husband, he would sit down beside him. Favor comes from relationship.

If a servant needs more favour, he works harder. If a son needs more favour, he draws closer. If you don’t feel like one of God’s favorites, it will be hard to believe for His favor. (And if you don’t feel like a favorite, you probably need to be healed.)

IRRESISTIBLE YOU

No good father can resist the affection of their children. James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” When this truth came alive in my heart, I understood for the first time just how much favor I have with God.

I don’t need to strive for favor and nor do you. You are His child. Right now, ask the Lord to heal you of all the reasons why you doubt your heavenly clout. Get hold of our books and come to an event near you. Then draw nearer to your Father than ever before and enjoy His wonderful favor.
