I don’t know how long you have been waiting for your breakthrough. I have not been on the road you have travelled and I don’t know how hard it has been. I do know that the Lord has not forsaken you.
If you will allow Him, God will use every experience of your life, both good and bad, to prepare you for your destiny. The struggles are often evidence that God has great plans for your life!
Even Jesus learned obedience through the things that He suffered (Heb 5:8). And remember, God led His Son into the wilderness to be tempted and tested. By going through hardship, Jesus grew in character.
The Power Of Process
Most of our Bible heroes suffered on the way to fulfillment. Let’s look at David. He was told in his teens that he would become the king of Israel. At first, things went well. He killed Goliath and was hired as King Saul’s personal musician.
David moved into the palace and became friends with the king’s son, Jonathan. As David served King Saul with devotion, he was promoted and achieved mighty victories.
But in one song sung by some random women, David’s dream fell apart. King Saul felt threatened when the people celebrated David. The king’s love for the young warrior turned to hatred and he became hell-bent on killing David.
1. Difficulty & Delay
Sometimes it looks like the stage has been set for success, then it all goes horribly wrong. It can be soul-destroying to see promising signs of breakthrough evaporate into thin air. But if that’s you, don’t give up, instead please read on…
David spent ten years in exile, running for his life. He narrowly escaped many murder attempts. He slept rough and sheltered in the woods. The man he once called father hounded him day after day.
Although it looked like everything was going wrong, David was in the center of God’s plan for his life. If you have been overwhelmed by delay or difficulty, keep surrendering to the Lord, you are probably being prepared for your purpose.
2. In Hiding
Perhaps you feel as though nobody is noticing your gift. Maybe you have watched from the wings as friend after friend enjoys their breakthrough. Hang in there. God may well have you hidden while He is making final preparations.
Eventually, after long periods living in fields & forests, David found a cave which he made his home. It must have been dark and damp, but it provided shelter and protection from danger. The name of that cave was Adullam. (1 Samuel 22:1).
Most of us have our Adullams: the spot where our heavenly Father hides us while He is preparing us for His purposes. It is a place of difficulty. It is also a place of development. If that’s you, God knows how to get you out at just the right time.
Coming Out Strong
Becoming great does not happen overnight. Saul was promoted quickly. Unfortunately, he was insecure and worried what folks thought. He ended up bowing to people pressure rather and never fulfilled his true calling.
David, in contrast, had to wait for two decades for his promise to be fulfilled. His friends betrayed him, his family deserted him and the only people who were loyal to him had more than enough of their own problems (see 1 Sam 22:2).
Our hero lived like a fugitive. David experienced rejection, hatred and betrayal. However, all the while he endured hardship and pain, God was working on David’s character to form a man that would become Israel’s greatest king.
While David waited, God was working on his character. When the spotlight eventually shone on the young warrior, he was ready for the responsibilities of leadership and went down in history as Israel’s greatest king.

El poder del proceso.
La mayoría de los héroes bíblicos sufrieron para llegar al cumplimiento. Si miramos a David. Él le dijeron desde que era un adolescente que sería el rey de Israel. Al principio, las cosas funcionaron bien. El mató a Goliat y fue contratado por el rey Saúl como su músico personal.
David se movió en el lugar donde se convirtió en amigo del hijo del rey, Jonathan. Mientras que David servía al rey Saúl con devoción, estaba haciendo promocionado y alcanzando grandes victorias.
Pero cuando una canción se canto por unas mujeres comunes, el sueño de David se despedazo. El rey Saúl se sintió amenazado por la celebración hacia David. El amor que tenía el rey por el joven Guerrero se convirtió en odio y él trató todo lo que pudo para matar a David.

David se pasó 10 años en el exilio, corriendo por su vida. De manera muy peculiar se salvó de muchos atentos de sus. El durmió en lugares terribles y se cubrió en medio de el bosque. El hombre al que una vez le llamó padre ahora lo perseguía día tras día.
Aunque todo lucía como que estaba mal, David estaba en el centro del plan de Dios. Si te sientes sobre tomado por el retraso o la dificultad, sigue rindiéndote al señor, él probablemente te está preparando para tu propósito.
Quizá te sientes como que nadie reconoce tu don. Quizás has experimentado como todos tus amigos reciben su rompimiento. No sueltes. Dios probablemente te tiene escondido hasta que termine sus preparaciones finales.
Eventualmente, después de un periodo largo de vivir en los campos y en los bosques, David encontró una cueva la cual hizo su casa. Probablemente era oscura y húmeda, pero le proveía la protección en contra del peligro. El nombre de la cueva era adulan. (1 Sam 22:1).
La mayoría de nosotros tenemos nuestro adulan: el lugar donde nuestro padre celestial nos esconde mientras nos prepara para nuestros propósitos. Es el lugar de la dificultad. Pero también el lugar del desarrollo. Si esto es usted, Dios sabe cómo sacarte de ese lugar en el momento correcto.
Saliendo fuerte.
Convertirte en grande no sucede de la noche a la mañana. Saúl fue promovido rápidamente. Desafortunadamente, él era inseguro y se preocupaba de lo que la gente pensaba. El término doblándose frente a la expresión de la gente en lugar de cumplir su verdadero llamado.
David, en lo contrario, tuvo que esperar dos décadas para que su promesa se manifestara. Amigos le traicionaron, su familia lo abandonó y la única persona que fueron leal a ir tenían más problemas que el mismo ( ver 1 Sam 22:2).
Nuestro héroe vivía como fugitivo. David experimentó rechazo, odio y traición. Sin embargo, mientras el aguantó la dureza y el dolor, Dios estaba trabajando en el carácter de David para formarlo en un hombre que se convertiría en rey de Israel.
Mientras David esperaba, Dios estaba trabajando en su carácter. Cuando llegó la promoción en este joven guerrero, él estaba listo para la responsabilidad de liderazgo y marcó la historia como el mejor rey de Israel.
