Disappointment is inevitable, but it can be crushing. Perhaps you were passed over for a promotion. Maybe you have been believing for healing but you’re still sick. It could be that your dreams have been delayed or dashed.
We all get disappointed, so although we know it hurts, we may think it’s harmless. But disappointment is a heart problem. It weighs us down and makes our hearts heavy. Here are 3 reasons you need to deal with disappointment.
1. DISCOURAGEMENT
Disappointment opens the door to discouragement which makes you feel like throwing in the towel. Discouragement is one of the devil’s trusted weapons to make you slow down or give up. It makes you doubt yourself and your dreams.
2. DEPRESSION
Left unresolved, disappointment sinks like a heavy rock to the bottom of your soul. If you have had several let downs, each one weighs you down just a little bit more. The sadness opens the door to heaviness which can lead to depression. Maybe not full blown, but any level of depression is awful.
3. DERAILMENT
Faith is the currency of the kingdom and the only way you can accomplish God’s plans for your life. Hebrews 11:1 explains where faith comes from: “Faith is the substance of things hoped for…”
Hope produces faith. Without hope, you will struggle to grow in faith. Just as oil and water cannot mix, so disappointment and hope cannot coexist. If you don’t deal with disappointment in the deep recesses of your soul, it will stifle your faith and stunt your growth.
GETTING FREE
Maybe by now, you’re realising that you’re carrying some sadness about delayed or dashed dreams. One of the things that makes disappointment so painful is that very often your faith was involved. You believed but your were let down.
Sometimes we feel upset with God. At other times we think God is upset with us. Either way, we don’t think we can tell the Lord how we really feel. That’s not true.
Psalm 139 tells us that He knows your thoughts before you even think them. He already knows what’s going on inside and He wants to help you find your way out. He can handle the truth! He is the God of truth and desires truth in the inward parts (Psalm 51:6).
If you will be honest with God and tell Him what happened (or didn’t happen) and how that made you feel, He will heal.
LEAVE IT
It doesn’t stop there. Once you have shared your sadness and poured out your pain, He wants you to leave your disappointment with Him. Lay down the let down as an offering. Give it to Him as a sacrifice.

La decepción puede ser aplastante y es inevitable. Quizás no te dieron esa promoción. Haz estado creyendo por una sanidad pero todavía estás enfermo. Puede ser que tu sueño se ha atrasado o se te ha pasado.
Todos hemos experimentado la decepción, y aunque sabemos que duele, pensamos que no es peligrosa. Pero la decepción es un problema del corazón. Nos carga y nos hace sentir pesados. Aquí te comparto tres razones por que necesitas enfrentar la decepción.
1. Desanimo
El desánimo le abre la puerta a la decepción lo que nos deja sintiendo con deseo de tirar la toalla. Desánimo es una de las armas valiosas del diablo para atrasarnos y empujarnos a darnos por vencido. Hace que empieces a dudar de ti y de tus sueños.
2. Depresión
Cuándo tenemos asuntos no resueltos, la decepción segunde como una piedra pesada en el fondo de tu alma. Si has tenido varias decepciones, cada una de ellas de pesa paso a paso. La tristeza le abre la puerta a la carga lo cual te lleva a la depresión. No por completo, pero cada nivel de depresión es terrible.
3. Descarrilar
La fe es la moneda del reino y la única manera en que vas alcanzar los planes de Dios para tu vida. Hebreos 11:1 explica de dónde viene la fe: “la fe es la sustancia de las cosas que se espera…“
La esperanza produce fe. Sin esperanza, vas a batallar para crecer en la fe. Así como el aceite no se mezcla con el agua, la decepción no coexiste con la esperanza. Si no enfrentas la decepción te deja un espacio amplio en el alma, va a afectar tu fe y va a retener tu crecimiento.
Ser libres
Quizá hasta ahora, te estás dando cuenta qué has estado cargando una porción de tristeza por causa de los retrasos o los sueños no cumplidos. Una de las cosas que hace que la decepción sea dolorosa es cuando la fe está envuelta. Creíste pero no ha sucedido.
Muchas veces te molestas con Dios. En otros tiempos piensas que Dios está enojado contigo. En ambas maneras, no pensamos en decirle al señor lo que verdaderamente sentimos. Y eso no es verdad.
Salmo 139 dice que él conoce nuestros pensamientos antes de qué siquiera suban a nuestra mente. Él ya conoce lo que está sucediendo adentro y quiere a que usted reciba ayuda para solucionar. Él puede manejar la verdad! Él es el Dios de verdad y desea que la verdad sea parte de nuestra vida (salmo 51:6).
Si fueses honesto con Dios y le dices a él lo que sucedió (o no tomó lugar) y como te hizo sentir, él te sanará.
Déjalo
No para ahí. Una vez qué has compartido tu tristeza y has derramado tu dolor, él quiere que dejes la decepción en sus manos. Que lo entregues como una ofrenda. Entrégalo como un sacrificio para él.
Cuando tu corazón está libre de la decepción, estarás listo para soñar y creer otra vez. Si te has sentido decepcionado o desanimado, Dios quiere sanar tu corazón.
