Le has pedido a Dios algo de lo siguiente: protección, larga vida, paz, felicidad, sueño profundo, favor con Dios, favor con autoridades, riqueza, éxito, promoción, fuerza o dirección? Si la respuesta es sí, esto es para ti.
Si activamente estamos persiguiendo la sabiduría, la Biblia nos promete que vas a disfrutar de todo lo mencionado anteriormente y más. Proverbios 9:12, ““Si te haces sabio, serás tú quien se beneficie. Si desprecias la sabiduría, serás tú quien sufra.”
Proverbios 4:7 dice, “¡Adquirir sabiduría es lo más sabio que puedes hacer! Y en todo lo demás que hagas, desarrolla buen juicio.”
La versión pasión dice: “sabiduría es la adquisición más invaluable.“ Es más importante que otro atributo que puedas adquirir.
Cómo se obtiene sabiduría?
En resumen, tienes que apasionadamente perseguirlo. Hablando de sabiduría, proverbios 2:4, “Búscalos como si fueran plata, como si fueran tesoros escondidos.”
Probablemente trabajas cinco días a la semana para obtener un pago. Las escrituras nos instruyen a buscar la sabiduría con el mismo nivel de esfuerzo que aplicamos cuando buscamos dinero. Tenemos que buscar la sabiduría de la misma manera en que sales a excavar por un tesoro.
Siete pilares de la sabiduría
Cómo sabes que tan sabio eres? “La Sabiduría edificó su casa; labró sus siete pilares.” Éstos son los siete pilares de la sabiduría, siete atributos que trabajan para hacernos más sabios.
Por qué no lees esta lista el Espíritu Santo que te muestre las áreas de la sabiduría que quieres. Él te va a posicionar para éxito!
- Temor a Jehova
Se nos ha enseñado que el temor a Jehová es el principio de la sabiduría (prov 9:10). En otras palabras, la verdadera sabiduría está arraigada en una reverencia profunda y respeto por Dios. Tienes gran conexión y respeto por Dios. Lo respetas desde lo más profundo de tu corazón?
- Instrucción
Recibes fácilmente instrucciones de aquellos que consideras como autoridad en tu vida? Que sea tu esposo, jefe, padres o líderes. Proverbios 10:8 dice, “el corazón sabio recibe instrucción.“
- Conocimiento
Usted y yo necesitamos crecer en conocimiento en cada área clave, en la palabra, en nuestra área de trabajo o ministerio, liderar a nuestra familia y mucho más. Proverbios 10:14 dice, “las personas sabias acumulan conocimiento.“ En que puedes crecer en conocimiento?
- Entendimiento
Todos quieren ser entendidos, pero una persona sabia busca el entender. Esto demanda el escuchar, observar, esperar y preguntar al Espiritu Santo por ayuda. Proverbios 10:23 dice, “…Mas la sabiduría recrea al hombre de entendimiento.”
- Discreción
Cualquiera persona en liderazgo valora las personas que son discretas (ver proverbios 14:35). Cuándo eres discreto, reconoces el conocimiento como privilegio no como una fuente de poder. Proverbios 2:11 dice, “la discreción te preservará.“
- Consejo
Busca el consejo de tu familia, amigos o compañeros de trabajo. Proverbios 11:14 dice, “Donde no hay dirección sabia, caerá el pueblo; Mas en la multitud de consejeros hay seguridad” Es muy sabio rebotar ideas entre un equipo y considerar alternativas.
- Corrección
Es vital buscar y recibir corrección. Proverbios 6:23 NTV explica que, “… La disciplina de corrección es la manera de vivir…“ Necesitamos que se nos informe cuando fallamos. Proverbios 12:1 va un paso más hacia adelante: “aquel que odia la corrección es estúpido!“

If you actively pursue wisdom, the Bible promises that you will enjoy all of the above, and much more. Proverbs 9:12 (NLT) says, “If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit. If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer.”
And Proverbs 4:7 says, “Wisdom is the principal thing therefore get wisdom and in all your getting get understanding.” Principal means highest in rank, importance, or value.
The Passion translation says: “Wisdom is the most valuable commodity.” It is more important than any other attribute that you can acquire.
Assess Yourself!
How do you know how wise you really are? Proverbs 9:1 says, “Wisdom has built her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars.” There are seven pillars of wisdom, seven attributes that work together to make us wise.
Why don’t you read this list and ask the Holy Spirit to show you which areas of wisdom He wants you to pursue. This will set you up for success in 2022!
1. Fear Of The Lord
We are told that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). In other words, real wisdom is rooted in a deep reverential respect for God. Do you have a deep regard for God. Do you respect Him from your heart?
2. Instruction
Do you quickly and easily follow instructions given to you by those who have authority in your life? That might be your husband, boss, parents or leaders. Proverbs 10:8 says, “The wise in heart will receive commands.”
3. Knowledge
You and I need to grow in knowledge in every key area, in the Word, in our area of work or ministry, in leading our families and so on. Proverbs 10:14 says, “Wise people store up knowledge.” What can you do to grow in knowledge?
4. Understanding
Everyone wants to be understood, but a wise person seeks to understand. This demands listening, watching, waiting and asking for the Holy Spirit’s help. Proverbs 10:23 says, “A man of understanding has wisdom.”
5. Discretion
Anyone in leadership greatly values people who are discreet (see Proverbs 14:35). When you are discreet, you see knowledge as privilege not as a source of power. Proverbs 2:11 says, “Discretion will preserve you.”
6. Counsel
Do you seek advice from your family, friends or co-workers. Proverbs 11:14 says, “Where there is no counsel, people fall but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” It is wise to bounce ideas off others and to consider alternatives.
7. Correction
It is vital that we seek and receive correction. Proverbs 6:23 NLT explains that, “…corrective discipline is the way to life…” We need to be told when we miss the mark. Proverbs 12:1 goes a step further: “He who hates correction is stupid!”
If you struggle to receive from others, whether that’s instruction, counsel or correction, that’s probably because you still need healing. Our books and events will help.
How Do You Get Wisdom?
In short, you need to passionately pursue it. Speaking of wisdom, Proverbs 2:5 tells us to, “…seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures…”
You probably work five days a week to earn a living. Scripture instructs us to seek wisdom with the same effort that we apply to earning money. It tells us to search for wisdom the way you would hunt down treasure.
