3 Reasons Why You Probably Bury Pain | 3 razones porque entierro el dolor

By 25th February 2022 Uncategorised

You were designed to feel, and to express your emotions. When they are trapped on the inside, your soul can stagnate. Your heart is deep (Psalm 64:6). When you subdue your emotions, they get buried inside. No wonder you find yourself feeling dry or weighed down.

Your heart determines the course of your life (Proverbs 4:23), which is why God charges you and me to take care of our inner well-being.

The Real Problem

The devil knows the importance of your heart too, so he pushes Christians to bottle their feelings. He knows that a blocked soul is an easy way to get you to slow down. Or even, to make you stop altogether.

Nearly all of us internalize at one time or another. Some people constantly bottle up their feelings while others do it occasionally. However, I do believe the majority of us sweep our stuff under the carpet on a fairly regular basis.

Here are 3 reasons why we do this:

1. We Are Unaware

Sometimes we don’t know what is going on inside. Jer 17:9 says: “The heart is deceitful… Who can know it [perceive, understand, be acquainted with his own heart and mind]?”

We are unaware of what is going on inside so ignore what is buried. If you will ask the Holy Spirit to show you any pain or distress that you have unwittingly locked away, He will reveal what’s buried inside and He will heal.

2. It Is Uncomfortable

All too often, we don’t express our emotions because the feelings in our hearts are uncomfortable. We convince ourselves that if we ignore them, they will go away.

If we ignore unwanted feelings like rejection, shame or regret, they just sink to the bottom of our souls. They clutter our hearts and weigh us down.

Proverbs 20:20 says, “The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord searching the inner depths of the heart.” He highlights discomfort because He wants us to deal with our difficulties and enjoy freedom.

3. Out Of Practice

Perhaps your soul has been silenced for so long that you have forgotten what it is like to express your feelings. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you on a journey back to emotional health. It will bring you freedom but it will also improve your closest relationships.

If you often ignore or internalize your feelings or if you struggle to express yourself in a healthy way, I invite you to join our new 5 week zoom course: Unblocking Your Emotions. It will lead you to freedom and healing and it will help you develop healthy relationships.

1. No estamos consiente

Te va a ayudar a desarrollar relaciones sanas y te va a guiar a sanidad y liberación.
